Tonight my dad, my grandma and I went to the Emerald Casino to see the Chinese acrobats. Oh my gosh!!! It was so amazing! One guy stood on a table and put 4 wine bottles on the table and balanced a chair on the wine bottles and then he turned another chair upside down and balanced that one on the other one and on and on until there was about 8 chairs. ON each chair he did certain tricks like balancing on the chair upside down. There was this one girl who balanced lots of glasses with water in them stacked on top of each other with her foot and then did gymnastics type things while balancing it. She was like a Gumby doll she could bend and turn in so many ways. There were so many AMAZING ACTS I could not believe it. There were times I didn't even want to look! WOW! That is all I have to say.

Plans this year

Well as some of you all know I am at Green River Community College right now. I am taking Writing if Humanities (which is poetry, short stories, fiction, and drama), Math that I can use (I really love it! Although, I have always loved math. I got 120% on the first quiz. We are learning about financial stuff, statistics, voting methods), and Biology (I don't really like it to much. I am not doing very well and the teacher is very difficult to follow.) I have also been meeting a lot of great people in all my classes.

After this quarter I will be transferring to Seattle Pacific University. I will be taking one quarter so I can take the foundations class for SPU and some other classes that hopefully will be preparing me for my major. I would like to get into the School of Theology there and double major in Christian Ministries and Theology. I would also like to minor in Global and Urban Development.

Plans for the Summer

CONGO! I am planning on going to the Congo this summer with my friend Whitney. We will be living there for the entire summer at the United Methodist Orphanage they have there. I have a lot to do to prepare for this. I need some shots, I need to refresh my French, I have a lot of paperwork, in Feb. I head to Phoenix to the training. The place I am going is the safest place over there and there is a huge support team already over there to welcome us and make sure we are OK. I am very excited about this and I would ask you to please pray for the girls at the orphanage and me that God may use me in their lives and prepare me for what I am about to take part in.

Where the heck am I working?

Well I started off the quarter babysitting for Suzanne and Gabe Harkness. They have 2 kids one is 3 and his name is Coda and the other is 7 (I believe) and her name is Olivia. I did that for the first 3 weeks. It went really well because why Coda would take his 1 1/2 hour nap I could do homework or just rest. Here was my crazy schedule for the first 3 weeks:
MWF
5:45-wake up
6:30 work out and shower
8:15 start babysitting
5:00 done babysitting make dinner or finish homework
7:00 school starts
9:30 head home
? Bed whenever I could

TTH
5:30 wake up
6:00 work out and shower
8:15 baby-sit
3:00 head to school
4:00-9:30 school
? get to bed when I could

Wow I had some long days but I would prefer this schedule over my one now where I work out every day in the morning and then finish anything I need to do. I have a lot of free time.

Well I hope you are now completely updated on what I do everyday.

One Day

A young man with joyful
Soft eyes and dark skin,
Sat with a blanket
Draped about himself.
He looked at me confidently,
As we discussed life.
A man like him,
A rarity in his neighborhood.
His words difficult to understand,
But he had a soothing voice of a lamb.

No motivation,
A dropout,
Young mom,
No job,
Lived with grandma,
Jailed once,
Warrant now,
A whole life ahead of himself.

Sirens zoomed by,
I continued my work.

As I walked to church I saw
Money handed, a bag given.
“Yo, your friend just got picked up by the 5-0.”

I sat and waited.
“Next batch.”
I peered through metal holes,
And could barely make out an image
But I heard the lamb
We talked of family, friends, love, and God.
Does he understand,
The hurt he caused to family and friends?

Letters come
And letters of hope go out.

One Day.

Jess and Moise's wedding

I flew to Michigan on the weekend of Oct. 14 for Jessica's (roommate from the ATL) wedding. I was met at the airport by Jess' neighbor Marlene and her husband (who were incredibly nice!) They dropped me off at Applebee's so I could meet my friends. I got to see Bethany (another roomie), Holly, and Mike and we had some dinner.

Then we went back to the hotel and Frances (one of my other old roomies in the ATL) was there and Micah and Amy had gotten back from the wedding rehearsal. Bethany, Frances and I went out to a club that night called Ricks. We had a blast. Then when we got back to the hotel Melissa was there (another roomie.) Then Bethany, Frances and I chatted awhile and went to bed.

The next day was the wedding and it was so beautiful and perfect. I think almost everyone there cried. Her dad did the ceremony in their backyard and it was freezing. There was a small reception after the wedding and then we went back to the hotel and everyone but Frances, Melissa and I left. We hung out for awhile and talked it was so great to see all my roommates. I hadn't realized how much I really missed them.

The next night I stayed at the Johnson's and that was great I got to finish up on some homework and before I left for home the next day I got to see Moise and Jess get back from their honeymoon.

Maroon 5

My dad, Sherri, Haily (sherri's daughter) went to the Maroon 5 and none other than the Pale (from Bellingham) was the opening band. It was so great. We went to the Puyallup fair earlier and went on a ton of rides including the Extream Scream. It was a blast. Oh and then after the show we got to go back stage and meet Maroon 5 and get our picture taken with them. They were really nice but looked kind of tired. But still awesome to meet them!
